Our Services:
Septic Inspection
A septic system inspection will uncover any problems that may need to be addressed.
Whether you are scheduling your inspection or are concerned there might be something wrong with your septic system, we’re here to help!
A septic system should be inspected once per year, or prior to selling your home. Doing so will increase your home value, reduce septic repair costs, and avoid any liability issues from a malfunctioning system.
Make sure you consult a licensed professional for a legitimate, problem-free inspection. During your complete septic system inspection, we’ll uncover any problems and identify areas of concern.
The two main issues a septic inspection can help prevent:
- Leaks: Septic tanks may leak gasses, effluent, sludge, or scum into the soil, and even contaminate nearby water sources. It is highly recommended to receive an inspection annually or before trying to sell/buy a home to avoid any costly problems. Our 5-star inspection service will ensure your septic system is working the way it is supposed to.
- Back-Ups: As your septic system disposes of unwanted wastewater from the structure, there are 3 main types of septic waste:
- Effluent: Water that regularly exits the tank into a drain field that is naturally filtered by bacteria.
- Sludge: Solids that are partially broken down in your septic tank.
- Scum: Fat, oil, and grease that separates from the wastewater.
*Scum and sludge must be pumped out from your tank regularly to avoid any back-ups. Consult our professionals with a septic inspection at Rapid Rooter today!
During your inspection, we’ll cover:
-
- Sludge Level: Sludge should not accumulate more than 1/3 of your tank’s total volume, or rise to the level of the baffles.
- Drainfield: Drainfield should be free and far enough away from nearby wells, streams, and other underground sources.
- Volume/Occupancy: Check the tank is large enough for the home and the number of occupants. A 4 bedroom home typically requires a 1,200 gallon tank.
- Liquid Waste: Ensure liquid waste has not made its way to the ground surface. Check the tank is watertight so wastewater does not leak out, or groundwater does not leak in.
- Riser Lids: Inspect for cracks and gaps.
- Baffles: Ensure that the baffles are firmly connected to the tank’s inlet and outlet pipes.
- Drain Line: Each line should receive the same amount of wastewater for even and clog-free drainage.
Septic Tank Repair
A septic system requires ongoing maintenance to avoid costly repairs or replacements.
Septic systems require occasional repairs throughout the lifetime of the system. As your septic system is beneath the ground, it is often difficult to detect a problem before it’s too late.
In the event your septic system needs repairs, you can trust our experts to complete the job without issue for a fair price. We’ll first diagnose the problem, whether it is a clog, leak, or a number of other potential issues. We offer a variety of septic replacement options to ensure your repair is as affordable as possible.
Common signs of a septic emergency:
Sewage in the home: Check the lid of your septic tank. If the water level is lower than the outlet, the pipe might be clogged. If the water level is higher than the outlet then it is a separate issue. The next step is to get your septic system pumped in order to determine the underlying issue.
Drainfield smells or wetness: Any water found on the drain field should be taken with extreme caution and avoid getting sick. Smells or water saturation in the drain field can be solved by pumping your septic tank and reducing water use in the area.

Septic Tank Pumping & Cleaning
A septic system will work as intended with regular cleaning & pumping.
A yearly inspection is highly recommended for any system. Our team will ensure your lines are clean and pipes are maintained with our pumping and cleaning services.
Note that if an odor is detected, or if you see your septic tank slowly draining, it is highly recommended to schedule a cleaning as soon as possible to prevent further issues. Also, older systems might need to be cleaned and pumped more regularly compared to newer models.
You can consult our experts to determine how often your system should be pumped and cleaned in order to avoid any unnecessary messes. During each inspection, we’ll arrive on time, make a professional analysis, and perform a 5-star job.
